May 14 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm MDT
Please join Telligen QI Connect™ for an engaging exchange of information and dialogue between experts and participants related to Advance Care Planning and Crisis Care Standard preparation and implementation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Jean Abbott is a Professor Emerita in Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado for over 30 years, faculty for the Center for Bioethics and Humanities, and conducts the ethics curriculum for the Palliative Care Master’s program at CU. She is a co-founder of The Conversation Project in Boulder County, and has been a content advisor to the Governor’s Expert Emergency Epidemic Response Committee (GEEERC); currently she is working on an appendix to the Triage Guidelines for the Crisis Standards of Care about Palliative Care and hospice needs in a disaster. Join us to:
- Hear health care providers’ perspectives and concerns related to COVID-19-specific Advance Care Planning and Crisis Care Standard implementation,
- Obtain a tangible punch list tool of proactive steps you can take to prepare should Crisis Care Standards ever need to be implemented (we all hope not), and
- Understand why taking action NOW is imperative to attempt prevention of further patient, family, and health care provider trauma. There will be time for questions and dialogue with participants.
