COVID-19 in LTC Office Hours

This interactive session will include follow up to the questions we received during the COVID-19 Prevention and Preparedness in LTC event on March 19, while also inviting new questions and sharing of best practices.
UPDATE! Dr. Joanne Lynn, Health & Aging Policy Fellow and a Policy Analyst in the Program to Improve Eldercare at Altarum, has generously agreed to join Friday’s Office Hours. One of the first hospice physicians in the US, Dr. Lynn is a nationally recognized expert and has authored over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles and 80 books and chapters on geriatrics, palliative care, and end of life care. Dr. Lynn will address the importance of advance care plans specific to the threat of COVID-19, and she will invite an interactive discussion with participants.
Joanne Lynn, MD, MA, MS, has been medical director of hospice, long-term care facilities, and home care, as well as the Chair of the geriatrics program at George Washington University School of Medicine. Previously a medical officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), she helped craft 2010-2011 CMS reforms relating to care transitions post-hospital and develop metrics for measuring quality in long-term care, home hospice and community settings. Dr. Lynn received an MS in Evaluative Clinical Sciences from Dartmouth College, an MA in Philosophy and Social Policy from George Washington University, and an MD from Boston University School of Medicine.
Dr. Christine LaRocca, a fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatrician and Medical Director for Telligen, will serve as the facilitator for this office hours call.
