Monitoring and Evaluation of Hand Hygiene in Nursing Homes, Part One
March 14 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDT
Hands are the number-one way that germs are transmitted. Despite the more than a 170-year focus on improving compliance, hand hygiene rates among healthcare providers are reported to be approximately 40 percent. Improving hand hygiene compliance will reduce the opportunity for transmission of microorganisms and facility-associated infections. In part one of this webinar series, Mary Alice Lavin, RN, and Telligen Senior Quality Improvement Facilitator Stacy Gordon will discuss methods to monitor compliance and provide feedback to frontline staff in an effort to improve compliance.
- Identify the key hand hygiene policy elements
- Perform a hand hygiene product inventory and assessments
- Describe the components of a hand hygiene monitoring and feedback program
