A Nursing Home Event: Staging and Identifying Pressure Injuries

June 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT

Identifying the incorrect cause of a wound can delay healing, waste money or even result in a nursing home receiving a deficiency tag. Nancy Morgan, co-founder of the Wound Care Education Institute (wcei), will help nursing home staff identify the stages of pressure injuries and differentiate between pressure and other wounds including: moisture associated skin damage (MASD), diabetic foot ulcers, suspected deep-tissue injury or bruise and friction wounds.

Capacity is limited for this event. Registration is required and will close when capacity is reached. Register today to attend!

  • Identify factors and characteristics needed to determine the cause of pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, mucosal pressure ulcers, and moisture-associated skin damage.
  • Discuss and use National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel staging of pressure injuries.

Nursing home administrators, directors of nursing, treatment and staff nurses, certified nursing assistants, physical and occupational therapists and any nursing home staff involved in pressure injury prevention.
