Telligen QIN Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council
As a pharmacist, patient-centered care has been Richard Michael’s professional focus. As an advisor for the Telligen Beneficiary Advisory Council (BFAC), he’s happy to use his clinical background to continue to advocate for patients.
Michael has served as an important resource for the Telligen QIN-QIO and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as it develops programs to help prevent falls, manage pain, use medications safely and prevent opioid misuse among Medicare beneficiaries. For example, Michael helped create an overview of medications that may increase fall risk – as well as methods to limit those risks – which is now a part of all Telligen fall prevention classes.
An Iowa native, Michael is semi-retired but balances his BFAC involvement with other volunteer roles at Unity Point Hospice, Grace Lutheran Church and the Golden K Kiwanis Club.
If you are interested in joining the Telligen BFAC or would like to know more, we invite you to complete and return an application.
