Beneficiary & Family Advisory Council - Resource

Barbara Smith, PMHNP, PhD
Telligen Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council

Barbara Smith worked for 30 years a healthcare provider and an executive in the community mental health field, retiring as chief quality officer for behavioral health managed care for the Colorado Medicaid program. With this deep background in behavioral health, she remains an advocate for people and families living with behavioral health disorders.

The Telligen Beneficiary and Family Advisory Council (BFAC) helps Smith continue her interest in improving healthcare services, particularly from the patient perspective. And the Telligen teams benefit from her background as a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a doctorate in nursing research and outcomes.

Smith’s involvement with the Telligen BFAC is motivated by an interest in empowering the voices of older adults on their healthcare teams. Telligen webinars help also her keep up with information on innovative programs that fit her areas of interest, such as loneliness, so that she can focus on her role in the BFAC.

If you are interested in joining the Telligen BFAC or would like to know more, we invite you to complete and return an application.
